Anthony (Tony) Thomas

Navy, 20+ Years
30 yrs. service as a Hospital Corpsman qualified in Saturation/Deep Sea/SCUBA diving and Parachute Jumping.
Served with Underwater Demolition Teams and SEAL Team ONE during Viet Nam war. Awarded Bronze Star and numerous other awards.
Worked for DOD Civil Service 14 yrs. after military service.

I was drafted in 1966, and went into the Air Force; which worked out pretty well for me. I was able to graduate from the University of Maine in 1977, and went on to work in USAF Satellite Operations, and got two trips to Australia, before retiring in 1998.

United States Naval Academy Graduate 2005. Served three tours (Ramadi, Philippines, Afghanistan) as Naval Intellegence Officer. Awarded The Bronze Star Medal twice and multiple ribbons.

Entered military service to train as a medic for active duty and their families. Completed schooling for Surgical Technology in 2002 and received National certification with an emphasis in ENT specialty surgeries. During Oceanside tour at Camp Pendleton and San Diego tour at Balboa Hospital, was recognized for community volunteer work with homeless VAs, Assault victims, and Acting as a mentor and preceptor to junior sailors.
Enjoyed working in the operating room, patient clinics, and after-hours urgent/emergent care.
Honorably completed tour in September 2006 to marry a fellow Corpsman and Marine and start a family. Has continued to scrub surgeries, train others, and Volunteer in the community when possible.
