About | James "Danny" Lee, a lifelong resident of New Windsor, entered into rest on Sunday, October 11, 2009 in Newburgh. He was 71. Son of the late James and Estelle Wood Lee, he was born May 25, 1938 in Newburgh. Danny proudly served his country with the National Guard from 1956-1963. He was a civil service employee with USMA at West Point for 34 years, and upon retiring worked with the Newburgh Auto Auction for 16 years, as well as Devitt's Landscaping. He was a lifelong member of the Quassaick Firehouse, a devoted Army football fan, and an avid hunter and fisherman. Danny was a loving husband, father, papa, brother, uncle and friend, and he will be dearly missed. Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Geraldine (Pettine), whom he married on June 29, 1958 in Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh, at home; two daughters, Dawn Stanford and her husband, Jack of Stormville and Lori Passaro and her husband, Rich of New Windsor; his brother, Charles Lee of Newburgh; two sisters, Patricia Redner of Newburgh and Nancy Doce and her husband, Vincent of Montgomery; three grandchildren: Kelsi Passaro, Dustin Stanford and Devin Stanford; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his grandson, Randy Passaro; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Lee; and brother-in-law, Donald Redner. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., today, Tuesday, October 13, at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14, in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor.
