About	William C. Roosa, of Newburgh, N.Y., entered into rest on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh campus. He was 83. The son of the late Clinton S. and Margaret Alexander Roosa, he was born in Amsterdam, N.Y on December 28, 1924. He was a longtime resident of the area, and an educator at Newburgh Free Academy, Newburgh City School District. William was a ham radio enthusiast for 35 years, having belonged to M.A.R.S. He was also a member of NYSUT (New York State United Teachers). He was a 1943 Graduate of Newburgh Free Academy. Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Grace M. Sarvis; one daughter, Lois A. Jones and her husband, Jerry, of Walden; five sons: Paul W. Roosa and his wife, Chong-Cha, of Tucson, Ariz., Philip C. Roosa of Bath, N.Y., Scott J. Roosa and Jean Harrington of Downingtown, Pa., Neil R. Roosa and his wife, Thelma, of Dell City, Okla., and Leigh T. Roosa and his wife, Melanie, of Newburgh; 19 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation for family and friends will be offered on Sunday, September 9, 2007 from 1-3 p.m. at The Engel Funeral Home, Inc., 5319 Rt. 9w, Newburgh. Funeral services will be held at The Engel Funeral Home on Monday, September 10th at 11 a.m. Pastor Charles Gockel will be officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newburgh.
