About | Thomas Bell Crawshaw, MD, a local family physician and lifetime resident of the area, entered into rest Saturday, April 25, 2009 in Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, Newburgh. He was 84. Son of the late William and Mary Bell Crawshaw, he was born March 2, 1925 in Newburgh. He was married to the late Mary Claire Preston, whom he married on September 5, 1953 in Clifton Park, NJ. Dr. Crawshaw proudly served his country in the Army Air Corp. during World War II. He attended Union College and New York Medical College earning his Doctorate in Medicine. He was a parishioner of St. Patrick's Church and a member of the Powelton Club. Survivors include his children: Tom Crawshaw and his wife, Kim of Geneva, IL, Bill Crawshaw of Newburgh, Dr. Paul Crawshaw of Ypsilanti, MI, Amy Junger and her husband, Harry of Shelburne, VT, Nancy Kish and her husband, Craig of Walden, Mary Mueller and her husband, Tom of the Town of Newburgh, Janet Crawshaw and her partner, Jerry Novesky of Newburgh, Pam Glynn and her husband, Rory of Newburgh, and Cathy Krupp and her husband, Jeff of Shelburne, VT; his brother, Roger Crawshaw and his wife, Helen of Newburgh; his grandchildren: Preston, Logan, Caitlin and Gillian Junger, CJ and Ryan Kish, Claire, Thomas, and Emily Mueller, Jessica and Michele Glynn, Dylan and Liam Crawshaw, and Alexandra, Madeline and Maxwell Krupp; great-grandson, Parker Junger; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Mary Claire, he was predeceased by his sister, Marie Crawshaw. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 30, at St. Patrick's Church, 55 Grand St., Newburgh with Monsignor John Budwick officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
