About	Beverly Gail Valentine departed this life on June 6, 2002. She was born on December 16, 1953 in Mount Vernon, NY to the former Shirley Mallory and Matthew Ronald Valentine. Beverly received her formal education in New Rochelle, NY graduating from New Rochelle High School in 1971. From there she continued her education by attending Lincoln University in Philadelphia where she received a Bachelors of Art Degree in Sociology. She was then employed by the Kennedy Junior Home for Children as a Child Care Worker and later went on to become a Social Worker at the Westhaven Nursing Home. Beverly then decided to make a career change and attend the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service. Upon her completion she began managing the Camelot Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, NY. She was a member of the Greater Centennial A.M.E. Church where she proudly served as Chairperson of the Vision to Victory Banquet Gala. Her other associations include Empire State Funeral Directors Association, N.A.A.C.P., Philadelphia Christian Alliance Organization, Delta Sigma Theta Westchester Chapter and the Westchester Funeral Director Association. She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted mother Shirley Valentine, beloved sister Marcia (Walter) Oliver, loving grandmother Mamie Mallory, cherished niece and nephew Jarett and Monica Oliver, her four godchildren David Bradley II, Brent Stewart Jr., Courtney Glenn and Monica Oliver, uncles Vincent (Orry) Mallory, John (Eura) Mallory and Samuel Morrison, aunts Mary Pond, Maggie Mallory and Ann Glenn; also surviving a host of devoted cousins, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her father Matthew R. Valentine and aunt Joan Morrison. Reposing Monday, June 10, 2002, 2-4 at the Camelot Funeral Home, 174 Stevens Ave., Mt. Vernon, NY and 7-9 pm at the Greater Centennial A.M.E. Church, 312 South 8th Ave., Mt. Vernon. Funeral Service Tuesday 11 am at the church. Interment Beechwood Cemetery, New Rochelle, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations to be made to American Cancer Society.
