| About | Loretta A. "Lettie" (Miller) Smith, 82, passed Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Pappus House in Thomasville. She was the wife of Leonard J. Smith, her husband of 57 years. Lettie was born May 16, 1943, in New Oxford, the daughter of the late Robert N. and Lillian C. (Shrader) Miller. Lettie was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Oxford. She was a 1961 graduate of New Oxford High School and a 1964 graduate of St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Lancaster. She cherished time with her family and found joy in watching sports, especially Penn State football and volleyball. She enjoyed monthly lunches with her colleagues from the VNA, was an avid reader, and looked forward to Sunday bingo and trips to casinos. In addition to her husband Lenny, Letty is survived by a son, Brian P. Smith and his wife Jackie of Johns Island, SC, two daughters, Cindy S. Lamb and her husband Herb of Sugar Hill, GA, and Sherri S. Flickinger of Virginia Beach, VA, six grandchildren, Courtney, Erika, Danny, Carly, Max and Ella, a great granddaughter, Celine, three brothers, Robert F. Miller and his wife Judy of New Oxford, Lee A. Miller and his wife Linda of Fort Mill, SC, and Jeffrey A. Miller and his wife Lori of Albuquerque, NM, and three sisters, Dorothy M. Deatrick of New Oxford, Donna L. Stoner and her husband Leroy of New Oxford, and Nancy C. Miller-Hyer of Hilton Head, SC. She was predeceased by a sister, Susan E. Norton. Following cremation, a memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 10 AM, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 106 Carlisle St, New Oxford, with Rev. Keith Carroll officiating. |
