Bob and I quit school at the beginning of our 11th grade and joined the Navy. He and I went through Basic Training together, and then we were assigned different ratings. I went to Memphis to school to be an aircraft mechanic, and Bob went straight to the USS Yellowstone, a Destroyer Tender, in August of 1965.
