Events | Frank P. Maguda II, beloved husband, father, Gramps, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2024. He left this world just as he lived his life—quietly, but profoundly touching the hearts of everyone who knew him. Raised in New Britain, CT, Frank was the son of the late Nellie and Frank Maguda and brother to Robert, Joan, and his late sister, Jane. After graduating from Central Connecticut State University, he embarked on a distinguished career in banking, earning a reputation for his intellect, integrity, mentorship, and—famously—a good lunchtime nap in the parking garage. At the center of Frank’s life was his family. He was the cherished husband of Jane for 47 years, with whom he built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. He was a devoted father to Paul and his wife, Winnie, and Kari and her husband, Joe, and the adoring Gramps of his two granddaughters, Vivian and Violet, who were the lights of his life. A long-time resident of Rocky Hill, Frank discovered his paradise in Hilton Head Island, where he embraced retirement with sunshine, golf, and his favorite grouper melt sandwiches. His love for national parks fueled countless adventures with Jane, and his ease with long drives made him a frequent traveler up and down the East Coast. Frank’s many talents and hobbies made him unforgettable. He was known for his woodworking skills, creating many treasured family heirlooms. He took immense pride in his Polish heritage, savoring pierogies, and enjoying polka music, often played on his clarinet. A lifelong UConn Huskies basketball fan, Frank never missed a game, celebrating every victory and commiserating over every loss during phone calls with Paul. As a passionate golfer, his skills once brought him to scratch level, and though he never achieved a hole-in-one, his love for the game never waned. His passion for golf is a legacy that lives on through his children. Frank’s generosity, kindness, and quick wit defined his life and endeared him to everyone he met. His cousins, nieces, and extended family counted themselves lucky to know and love him. Frank's family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Salmon Brook Rehab & Nursing Facility and Accent Care for providing compassionate, expert care. Frank was an extraordinary man who lived an extraordinary life. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as his legacy of love, laughter, and kindness lives on in all who were privileged to know him. |

My brother was a special person and I will miss him. We shared so much together growing up, can't believe he's gone. I have some great memories of our times together from playing basketball to hunting and fishing together.
