Cynthia R. Monteiro, 55, of New Bedford died December 1, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Willard R. and Mary A. (Lopes) Monteiro, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Cynthia was formerly employed by Mr. Donuts.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include 2 sons, Shawn M. Monteiro and his wife Christina and Orrin L. Guidry, all of New Bedford; a step-daughter, Roxanne Guidry of New Bedford; 4 brothers, Joseph Monteiro, Gerald Monteiro and Baron Monteiro, all of New Bedford and Matthew "Marty" Monteiro of Brockton; 2 sisters, Donna Gaylor and Nadeen Jordan, both of New Bedford; 4 grandchildren, Makaila, Shawn, III, Zhakiye and Kyleigh; her niece, Michelle Jordan of New Bedford; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was the grandmother of the late Shawn Monteiro, Jr. and the sister of the late Willard Monteiro, Jr. and Stephen Monteiro.
