NEW BEDFORD — David R. Cyr, 50, of New Bedford, died Friday, December 7, 2007, at home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the son of Robert A. and Joan H. (Cantwell) Cyr of New Bedford.
He was born in Wilmington, DE and lived most of his life in New Bedford and graduated from New Bedford High School. He was employed as a machinist until his illness.
He thoroughly enjoyed music and played the drums and guitar; also enjoyed making airplane models; but most of all was being with his family and friends.
Survivors include his parents; two sisters, Michelle Fontaine and her husband, Jean Paul and Suzanne Wieghmink and her husband, Daniel, both of New Bedford; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Robert M. Cyr.
