FALL RIVER — Maria C. (Mello) Graustein, 54, died Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at St. Anne Hospital. She was the daughter of Lidia (Amaral) Mello and the late Antonio Mello.
Born in Povoacao, St. Michael, Azores, she resided in New Bedford since 1963. Maria was employed by Southcoast Hospitals Group as a registered nurse.
Her family includes her mother; 1 son, Patrick Graustein and his companion, Shanelle; 1 daughter, Katelyn Graustein; 2 brothers, Antonio Mello and his wife, Melanie and Edward Mello and his wife, Cathy; 2 sisters, Lubelia Lima and her husband, Antonio and Louisa Medeiros and her husband, Ronald; 1 grandchild, Lyrik Graustein-Warmack; nieces, nephews and godchildren.
Her funeral will be conducted Friday morning 7:45 in the funeral home with a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated in St. Mary Church, New Bedford at 9:00. Interment in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours in the funeral home Thursday evening 5:00-8:00.
