Penny Greenberg

Class of 1973

In October 2009, the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham (BID-Needham) opened a $30 expansion. The expansion is a culmination of a five-year effort to bring the level of care found in Boston out to the suburbs. With a brand new Emergency Department, 20 private inpatient rooms and a state-of-the art MRI Suite, BID-Needham provides the best possible patient care in a safe and comfortable environment.

Penny Greenberg, a 1973 graduate of Needham High School serves as the the Executive Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at BID-Needham. Penny was an integral part of the expansion having worked countless hours to ensure that outstanding patient care be a number one priority. She has long served in the area of health care quality and patient safety. She has been the director of health care quality and patient safety at BID-Needham since 2005. She is also a consultant to The Harvard Risk Management Foundation which trains hospitals in teamwork behaviors. Ms. Greenberg also serves as a nurse reviewer for the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, evaluating the quality of care within the OB/GYN departments at various hospitals.
