| About | To all who knew him: my beloved brother Mike passed away last year at the age of 60 after a battle with cancer. Mike was a gifted musician who went on to serve for 27 years as a military musician in posts across the United States, Germany, and Korea before retiring as a 1SG in the mid 1990s. |

During my freshman year, our football team was playing a home game, and on one play I took a hard tackle by an opposing player after I picked up a good gain. The hit knocked the wind out of me, and as I lay there in pain on the ground members of the other team gathered around me, congratulating their teammate. About that time, Mike just happened to be walking by on the sideline and said to the other team, "Hey!! That's my brother!" I will never forget that, and at his funeral I recounted that story and said, "Hey! That's my brother.".
