In Memoriam

Randy Henzlik, class of 69, H.S: Jr Historical Society, French club, Track team, Chess Club, JCL. Musician! Worked at Chicago Market Science Group, LLC. Lived in North Aurora, IL Spoke English and Spanish. Single. Loved his daughter, Victoria, devotedly. Sister: Nancy Henzlik Watts.
Randy passed away November 26, 2011; age 60; From his obituary, “Doting father of Victoria Potter Henzlik; Beloved son of Dr. Raymond E. Henzlik and the late Dr. Wilma Bartels Henzlik of Muncie, Indiana; Beloved brother of Nancy Henzlik Watts (Michael) of West Bloomfield; Uncle of Tom, Ryan, and Erin; Dear nephew of Donald and Barbara Henzlik, Peggy Henzlik, Kathy (John) Anderson, Jim (Pat) Busse, and Pat Bennett; Henzlik cousins: Jen Durnas, Bill Henzlik, Evelyn (Jim) Goodwyn, Joe (Laura), Paul along with Bartels, Walsh, and Bennett cousins. Pre-deceased by Addie (Rudy) Wolff, William H. (Mary) Henzlik, Fred (Viola) Bartels, Rev. Bart (Connie) Bartels, Lila & John McVay, and Rev. William C. Henzlik. Mr. Henzlik grew up in Muncie, Indiana and graduated from Muncie Central High School. He attended Purdue and Northwestern Universities. Randy moved to Chicago in 1970, to start work in the rapidly developing computer industry. Later he worked for RealCom, an IBM Company in Chicago. From 1985-1992, Randall served as President of the Henzlik Institute of Cognitive Development working with Dr. Wilma B. Henzlik. The institute specialized in cultivating intelligence in young children and presented seminars at Elmhurst College and Barat College in Lake Forest. At the time of his death, he was the managing partner and a trading system developer at Chicago Market Science Group, LLC. He was an entrepreneur and a self-taught scholar in Information Technology, horticulture, culinary arts, guitar, and history and was an accomplished chess player . He was strongly committed to his Christian faith. Not only a self-taught scholar, but a tenacious researcher into investment market dynamics (thus the "market science" in the business name). Once he set an objective he believed he could achieve, few people exceeded the commitment Randy brought to achieving his goals. After Victoria, the subject that he most enjoyed talking about was the Michael Jordan era Bulls.”

In Memoriam

Michael R. Chastain, class of 69, (deceased 2003) Mike joined the Army after Muncie Central, and was sent to Vietnam. He was a tank driver. Mike loved working on classic cars, and he had a 57 chevy. Keith Ulen was one of his best friends. Obit: “Michael Ray Chastain, 51, of Las Vegas died Jan. 16 in Las Vegas. He was born March 21, 1951, in Muncie, Ind. A resident for 11 years, he was a production manager for an architectural company, an Army veteran and a member of the Construction Specification Institute. He is survived by his wife, Loralie Ann; one son, Shawn Michael Chastain of Las Vegas; two sisters, Michele "Chastain" Ulen of Muncie and Melody "Chastain" Siddons of St. Augustine, Fla.; and one brother, Mark A. Chastain of Muncie.
