| About Me | I've been married to the same woman since 1974. Donna and I met on south Whidbey Island in our first jobs out of college--she a schoolteacher and I a weekly newspaper editor. We've moved around the state a bit, mostly for job reasons--from the beaches and forests of Whidbey Island, which we loved, to the nuclear power plants and farmland of the Tri-Cities, which we didn’t. Our family doubled in size after we moved to Vancouver, Wash. And the four of us have lived in the Seattle area—Redmond, Vashon Island, and West Seattle—since 1981. Donna and I moved to Port Townsend in 2015. Our sons, Nils and Leif, work in Seattle restaurants. They've also been musicians--performing, touring and recording with Seattle-based rock groups. Music is the binding interest of everyone in my family. We all enjoy listening to music, watching live performances, and making music (I still fiddle around a bit, play guitar occasionally, and am trying to learn the ukulele, mandolin and mountain dulcimer).
