Vickie (Ellis) Evans
Class of 1977
I enrolled in Mount Tahoma in 1976 during my Senior year. The tragedy of the story is the reason! My mother and I escaped a domestic violence past, my mother and I left Sugarland, Texas (located 20 miles due South of Houston), Like fugitives in the night after my Dad fired a bullet at my Mom that grazed my my face. That was the last straw for her! So we threw what clothes we could in a suitcase and boarded a plane for Tacoma, Washington. Triumphantly, my Senior year at Mount Tahoma was the best year of my entire educational experience. First, I was selected as the captain of the volleyball team! Then, I was the nominated and selected as The Afro Princessfor 1977. Today, I am a multi-award-winning, Broadway Bound playwright! I am a national bestselling author of “Know Your Worth (Overcoming The Dragon Of Low Self-Esteem)” on Amazon.com. I am a sought after public speaker! I am a lifetime advocate to end domestic violence (I turned my tragedy into triumph). And I’m the CEO, of Performing Arts and Literary Society (PALS). I am a T-Bird for Life! Go Mount Tahoma!
