Got draft notice in mail, went down and enlisted. Honor grad at tech school. Went to Fairchild AFB, Washington. Worked on B52's and KC135's repairing from encounters over Viet Nam. Was on mobility team where at a moments notice could leave to a forward base where ever trouble brewed. Also had a special clearance so I could work on nuke loaded aircraft without another person observing. Sold back 60 days leave and lost 5 days. I never felt I needed time off.

Served 20 years as a Security Policeman rising to the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. Served 4 overseas (Turkey, Iceland, and 2 Germany) and 5 stateside (Montana, Washington, Missouri, and Ohio) assignments in a variety of jobs ranging from security guard, police officer, dispatcher, trainer, security superintendent, quality control superintendent, first sergeant, Headquarters Inspection team, and program manager.

Entered the Marine Corps in 1980. Air Traffic Control School in Millington Tennessee, Worked Air Traffic control at: Tustin Ca., El Toro Ca, Kaneohe Hi., Camp Pendleton Ca., Feutenma Japan, Osaka Japan, Pohang Korea, Camp Pendleton Ca., taught Air Traffic Control at Pensacola Florida, was in charge of a tactical ATC Detachment at Yuma Az. retired from the Marine Corps in 2001 and I now work as the Range Operations Officer at Camp Pendleton supporting Marine Aviation Training and Marine Ground Training. I live in Menifee Ca. North of San Diego. I teach Air Traffic Control part time at Palomar College (Adjunct Staff).

Army, 20+ Years

Roy retired as a First Sergeant in 1995 after 24 years of service. He graduated from the Army’s Electronic Warfare School Prior to being stationed in West Germany. Roy spent most of his career conducting Border Operations between West and East Germany, as well as Czechoslovakia prior to the reunification of Germany as well as duty on the Soviet, and Iranian borders with Turkey during the Iranian crisis in the early 80s. He Is a Turkish linguist and cultural expert. Roy is a Bronze Star recipient. He is married and living in Damascus Oregon with 5 children. The attached photo is from 1979
