Former Mt. Gilead resident, James A. Stockdale, 34, Templeton, Massachusetts, died Monday, January 29, 1990, at Henry Haywood Memorial Hospital, Gardner, Massachusetts.
He was born in Columbus, April 15, 1955, a son of Gene Stockdale, Heiskell, Tennessee, and Polly Stockdale, Chandler, Arizona.
A resident of the Edison/Mt. Gilead area until 1978, he was employed as a telephone installer with Comm-Tract Corporation, Waltham, Massachusetts. He was a 1973 graduate of Mt. Gilead High School.
Mr. Stockdale married the former Sherry Kelly, November 3, 1973, and she survives.
At the time of his death, in addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Stockdale was survived by a son, W. Joel, at home; three daughters, Jasmine, Lisa and Melody, at home; three brothers, Larry Stockdale, Berlin, Massachusetts, Gene Stockdale II, Winchester, Massachusetts, and Danny Stockdale, Cape Coral, Florida; two sisters, Carol Sue Heslin, San Ramon, California, Debra Crouse, Aurora, Colorado; a stepbrother, Ulysses Stockdale, Heiskell, Tennessee; a stepsister, Rachel Stockdale, Heiskell; and a grandfather, Delbert Ufferman, Marion.
Services were held at Snyder Funeral Home. Burial was in Bryn Zion Cemetery.
