About | Richard Anthony Garzony, 48, of McKees Rocks, formerly a long-time resident of Moon Township, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025. He was born in Kennedy Township on February 11, 1977, son of the late Maurice A. Garzony (surviving spouse Lea) and Linda J. Bhame Garzony. Richard was a 1995 graduate of Moon Area High School and was a California State graduate class of 2000. Considered a Renaissance Man, he was a seasoned traveler. At one point, he saw all of South America via train and backpack, while teaching English to South American children. Wherever he went, he always became invested in the community in which he lived. After completing his travels, he decided to pursue law and obtained his law degree from Duquesne Law School, class of 2010. In 2005, while residing in Ocean City, MD, he ran for City Council. He served our local justice system in the County Court House for 4 years and then ran for District Magistrate for Coraopolis in 2009. Richard practiced law with the Dornish Law Firm as well as independently. And in 2016, after receiving his real estate license, was hired by Berkshire Hathaway. His quest was always to become an entrepreneur, and in 2020, he opened his own business, Square One Home Inspection. Richard, a man of many facets, was well read, took Latin and Ballroom Dancing, enjoyed a good glass of wine, and had an air of culture in everything he touched including a collection of quotes from his book. “Don’t Quote Me”. He was gentle, kind, and an all-around nice guy. He will be missed by his stepmom, Lea; his siblings Maurice J. Garzony and Jaclyn M. Pack and husband Bill; his nieces Mia Garzony and Avery Pack; his Uncle James A. Garzony and wife Debi; along with many cousins, extended family, and friends. |
