About | Kathleen Shuckhart, age 66, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 3, 2025, at UPMC Mercy Hospital. She was born in Uniontown on May 30, 1958, one of three cherished daughters of the late Lester and Kathleen (Kelly) Shuckhart. In addition to her parents (who both came from huge families), she was predeceased in death by her sister, Karen Shuckhart, her maternal grandparents Michael and Dorothy (Hutzel Kelly, her paternal grandparents William and Florence (Lytle) Shuckhart, also many aunts, uncles, cousins, and her two beloved cats Kasey Jane and Toni. Kathleen is survived by her sister, best friend, and caregiver Darlene Shuckhart. She is also survived by her Uncle Elmer Shuckhart and wife Dolores, along with many loving cousins, honorary nephews MJ Devonshire and Eli Kosanovich; and her dear little rescue cat Valentine. A resident of Moon Township, Kathy graduated from Moon Area High School in 1976. Kathleen was a member of St. Margaret Mary Church. She had worked as a bartender at Stardust Lounge, retiring when COVID dictated our world crushing our joy of being with friends. She also had worked as a manager at several Wendy’s, the Last Resort on Stoops Ferry and had worked in the billing department of Sewickley Valley Hospital. She was an avid Pittsburgh Sports enthusiasts that had never given up on her Pittsburgh Pirates. She also would root for Pitt, Boston College and the Raiders. She loved to give her beautifully crocheted creations to family and friends. She also loved to watch TV. |
Events | Visitation Friday 6-8 at Copeland’s Moon Township, 981 Brodhead Rd. where a Blessing Service will be held on Saturday at 11 AM. Entombment will be private at Resurrection Cemetery. Darlene would like to thank the staff at Mercy Hospital, third floor ICU, for all their kindness and care. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in her name to The Humane Society. |
