About | Wanda Kirk, age 83, formerly of Moon Twp., on December 31, 2024, went home to be with Jesus! Wanda was born in Coraopolis, PA where she spent her childhood days through grade 6. She then moved to Moon Twp. and resided there through high school. During those years she participated in various clubs, activities, and basketball. Upon graduation in 1959, she was employed by Calgon Corp. in Robinson Twp. (1959 to 1969). On June 3, 1961, she was married to George W. Kirk III (her loving husband of 63 years). Upon the arrival of her son on April 24, 1969, Wanda chose to stay at home with her son. During this time, she became a neighborhood walker with friends and an avid tennis player. When her son went off to college, Wanda went back to Calgon working in the Purchasing Dept where she retired in 1996. Upon George’s retirement in 2001, they ventured off to Marco Island, FL spending 15 winters there. Wanda loved the beach and enjoyed watching George play Senior Softball. When at home, George and Wanda took many weekend trips and enjoyed visiting approx. 275 lighthouses from Alabama to Maine including the Great Lakes. She also was a faithful participant at the First Baptist Church of Coraopolis and Christ Church at Grove Farm in Ohio Twp. In 2016, illness confined her to a Nursing home. Wanda is survived by her husband, George W. Kirk III; son, George W. Kirk IV (Jennifer); grandson, Tyler Ryan Kirk; granddaughter, Annabelle Rose Kirk; and 8 nieces and nephews. |
Events | Visitation will be at Copeland Funeral Home, 981 Brodhead Road, Moon Twp., PA 15108. On Friday January 10, 2025 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Memorial Service will be at Copeland Funeral Home on Saturday January 11, 2025 at 10 am followed by Interment at the Sewickley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Urban Impact Foundation would be appreciated (PO Box 99518, Pittsburgh, PA 15233). |
