About It is with deep sorrow announcing the recent passing of Lisa A. Meanor, 59, of Crescent Township, on March 25, 2024 after battling cancer. As the family mourns this great loss, they also celebrate in the knowledge that Lisa in now in heaven with God, our Father, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, and Holy Spirit. She will be profoundly cherished by family, friends and the community.
It was discovered while sharing many hilarious stories, Lisa’s most common character trait was how she was able to convince anyone to do something they would have never done on their own….crazy stuff…the instigator! Her sense of humor was brilliant. She loved to laugh, dance, play softball, volleyball, go camping, knotting blankets and crocheting. She loved her children and family with her whole heart. Her dogs brought her such joy. Lisa’s tattoo reminds us all to enjoy each day: “Troubles will come and they will pass.”
Lisa grew up in the Glenwillard United Methodist Church and attended West Hills Baptist Church these past 3 years. God was a very important part of her life and communicated to her through rainbows appearing out of nowhere, cardinals, nature and prayer. Her nickname was “Church Lady” by her softball team as she would attend church and miss her softball game. She walked the servant life of a disciple, giving generously of herself, being a “Best Friend” to so many. She spent her free time donating raffle baskets for charities, holding “paw parties” for the humane society, donating hundreds of knotted and crocheted blankets to Childrens Hospital yearly, giving to those in need she just came across, and the thousands of unspoken kind and generous acts. She served as the President of the Crescent Township Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary which was a second family for her. Lisa worked at Jamie’s Physical Therapy at the front desk, and cherished working there as well as her work family.
Lisa is the daughter of the late Austin (Dean) Whiteman, Jr. The family is survived by her devoted mother Jeanne Whiteman, her dedicated and ultimate love of her life, husband John (Jay) Meanor, loving children Joey Shutka (Kristan), Jonelle Shutka-Williams (Ajax), and Mikey Shutka (Dani), Sisters: Susan Selinsky-Whiteman, Renee Whiteman, and Janice Dierdorf (Eric), 8 grandchildren and the many dearly loved nieces, nephews and their spouses, as well as great nieces and nephews.
Events Our family sincerely thanks all the staff who were so supportive during this difficult time at West Penn Hospital, AHN Wexford, AGH, and Concordia of the South Hills. Following Lisa’s wishes to be cremated there is no visitation or funeral services. There will be a celebration of life on May 11, 2024 at 1 PM at Shouse Park in Crescent and all will be welcomed.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be given, in memory, to the Crescent Township Fire Department, the Crescent Township Police Department, or the Beaver County Humane Society. Arrangements by Copeland’s.
