Graduation Year Class of 2023
Date of Passing Mar 22, 2023
About Luke Cooper, 18, was ripped from the lives of his family and friends tragically in an auto accident on March 22 on his way to play hockey as he has done for 13 of his 18 years of life.
Beloved son of Joyce Cooper, of Crescent, PA, and Mike Cooper (Stacy), of New Cumberland, WV, and brother of Clayton and half-brother Cole; stepbrother of Kadence and Robby, Luke was a senior at Moon Area High School, a forward and winger on the Moon Area Hockey Team (#67forever) and Arctic Foxes, and upon graduation had planned to pursue a career as a history teacher.
We believe someone in heaven needed a hockey teammate and Xbox player more than all of us here on earth. Words cannot explain how much he will be missed by everyone. We will honor him by his example of being the most fun, yet, at times stubborn person in the room. Luke absolutely loved living and had a unique passion for the traditions of life.
He was the best friend to every friend he had, the best, most caring brother one could ever have and the most adoring, passionate, and dedicated son every mother can hope for.
Luke will want to be remembered not for his tragic death, but because of his life. Luke lit up every room with his infectious laugh, boisterous personality, and goofy attitude. He captured the hearts of so many people because of his good nature and his love for fun.
Luke will be joining his cousin, Kaylin, in heaven where he will enjoy his favorite meal of spaghetti and meatballs, and a complete set of Xbox games for him to play for all eternity.
Luke is survived by his maternal grandparents John and Ruth Roos, and fraternal grandfather, Vic (Barb) Cooper, nephew of Michael (Teresa) Roos, Beth (Zane) Dicks, Cynthia (Todd) Miller, Jennifer (David) Quarterman and Christina (David) McCartney. Also survived by many great aunts, uncles, and cousins.
