About Roy “Pop-Pop” “Trapper” “Coach” Meanor, age 71, of Tionesta, PA, formerly of Moon Township, PA, died on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at his home in Tionesta. He was born October 2, 1950 in Sewickley, PA, son of the late William and Nancy Meanor.
On April 30, 1971 in Imperial, PA, he married Rosemary “Ro-Ro” (Falcione) Meanor who survives in Tionesta. He retired from the P & LE Railroad after 25 years. He was a Football Coach for Moon High School and South Side Beaver High School for many years. He was an avid hunter, fly-fisherman and trapper, and absolutely loved the outdoors.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Caroline Mayer and her husband Joe of West View, PA and three grandsons, Brody A., Tyler and Brandon Mayer, all from West View. There are several nieces and nephews including his hunting/fishing buddies, Jason Unger, Jake Sykes, and Clay Smith who spent many hours together at “Trappers Cabin” in Tionesta!
Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta. Friends will be received at the R.D. Copeland Funeral Home Inc. 981 Brodhead Road Moon Township, PA 15108 on Monday, December 27, 2021 from 3-5 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children Hospital at www.stjude.org .
