Born January 7, 1933 in Sewickley, daughter of the late John Burkett Wood and Lotus (Poppenger) Wood Deiley; and stepdaughter of George Deiley. Beloved wife of James R. Laird; mother of James George Laird of Trafford, PA, Gary Michael (Linda) Laird of Hanover, PA, and Donald Harold (Kimberly) of Pittsburgh, PA; grandmother of Daniel, Erin and Shannon. LaVerne raised three sons, enjoyed golf and played in various card groups. Viewing Monday 5-8 p.m. COPELAND'S CORAOPOLIS, 867 Fifth Avenue, where a service will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment Coraopolis Cemetery.
