About Me	Moved to Oregon immediately after graduation where parents had moved during Senior year. Attended Oregon State for a year. Received appointment to the Coast Guard Academy, New London, CT. Graduated/commissioned in 1969. Served a year at sea before going to Naval Flight Training, Pensacola, FL. Served at CG Air Stations Barbers Point HI, Houston TX, Traverse City MI (Executive Officer), New Orleans LA (Commanding Officer), Aviation Training Center Mobile AL (deployed on CG icebreakers to Antartica and Arctic), assigned to CG HQ twice (Program Manager for CG's standard workstation recompetion - servers/workstations/laptops/software conversions), Chief of Search and Rescue in 1st District Bostom MA (area of responsibility covered ME, NH, VT, MA, CT, eastern NY, northern NJ) After retirement from Coast Guard worked in Washington, DC area for a small business (8A firm) that eventually was bought by General Dynamics, ran a program for the Federal Transit Administration for five years then worked in CG HQ for the Intelligence Directorate. Retired to North Carolina in October 2008. Have been to all seven continents and sailed on four of the five oceans....(read more)
