Perlita means"little pearl", signifying her preciousness-and so she was to anyone who met her. Nicknamed "Perky".
She was born in Risal, Phillipines, arriving with her mother, Juanita in San Francisco,CA on 17 Dec 1947. Raised in Monterey, CA.
Married William Groover in 1962. Was an Army wife for 20 years, raising three sons and one daughter. Perlita died in Savannah, GA where she resided for many years after Bill retired from the U.S.Army.
