Spent four years in the Marine Corps. Honorable discharge in 1987. Served as a 2512/2531 (field wireman/field radio operator). Primary duty stations: Camp Pendleton, 29 Palms, and Camp Lejeune.

Air Force, 20+ Years

Served four years in the Milaca Army National Guard as a transportation specialist. In May 1981, switched to active duty and returned to basic training to begin an Air Force career. Served 20 years as a communications analyst and retired in 2001 with honors. Acquired the final rank of TSgt three years prior to retirement. Overseas duty stations, in order, included Misawa AS, Japan, Osan AB, Korea, RAF Chicksands, England, and temporary duty assignment at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Stateside locations included San Antonio TX (3 times), Tucson, AZ, and San Angelo, TX (3x).
