Hi! Lorraine and I were neighbors. She and her parents, Larry and Muriel, lived across the street from my parents and me. It was Northwest 178 Street and 19 Avenue. Even though she was a bit older than me, we did hang out together because she had a car and I didn't. I spent a lot of time with Muriel, too, and Larry used to fix my father's truck on occasion.
She (Muriel) was quite a character. I have a picture in my mind of her sitting at the dining room table, smoking a cigarette, and listening to the radio. What I remember about Lorraine was her love of anything purple. She left the neighborhood after high school and I heard she got married. I didn't see her after that at all. I'm very sorry to hear of her passing. I had always wondered what happened to her.
