Juan Valtierra was my best buddy at Merced High School. We both graduated in 1963 from Merced High. I entered the United States Marine Corps in 1964 and he in 1965. Juan lost his life in the defense of his country on January 5, 1966 at Quang Nam in South Vietnam. One day I will see him again and maybe we will both remember the good times instead of the bad ones. Rest in peace Juan and Semper Fi. buddy.
