| About Me | Married to Bob Starkey whom I met on a blind date in college. Opposites attract. He was a football player and wrestler in college. I didn't know the first thing about sports. We are best friend to this day. He is a science teacher and coached football and wrestling. He retired last year in 2013. We have three children, Eric, David, Anne. We are very proud of them. I was born with an omphalocele. (spleen, liver and intestines ouside of my body) Some might think that was a horrible sentence to live with. Not so. I have always felt blessed by God to be able to live and walk the earth and feel I was put here for a reason. My parents have always been there for me, supporting me. They treated me as a normal person and their support allowed me to grow into a confident adult. God gave me the most loving, caring, understanding and romantic husband in the world, to help me with his plan for me. Because of his support, I have beeen able to work as a nurse (until recently). As a nurse I felt like I helped countless children, parents and their relatives through some difficult periods in their lives. I received more from these encounters than those families that I worked with. It has helped me be more empathetic and understanding of others. It made me feel worthwhile as a person. It helped me in my personal relationships. Now I am not able to work, due to my pain level, respiratory and GI difficulties, and memory problems . I miss that feeling of purpose in my life. However, my beautiful daughter has blessed us with a sweet, inquisitive granddaughter, Olivia. I love being with her, playing, reading, singing and acting sillly. God has given me another chapter in my life. I look forward to more grandchildren to help travel through life. I really enjoy our visits withour grandson, Ethan; my son Eric's son. He lives in Arkansas so we doen't get to see him as often as we would like. In December; my son David and his adorable wife Jessica blessed me with a grandson, Robert (Bobby) He is darling.
