| About Me | I have three wonderful children and three amazing grandchildren by whom I am referred to as "Nanny". I have been married to my husband Ken for 18 years. Along with our Brady Family, we have two children of our own; a son Max, and a daughter Maddie who just turned one. I should mention that our children are actually Miniature Schnauzers. Ken is a Pharmacist, semi-retired. I adore Manhattan and am a New York City girl at heart. I would be living there now if it weren't for a life interrupted. Some of my favorite things are big familiy dinners, shopping, travel and intererior design. I am a Registered Nurse and practiced for 15 years in a variety of settings from Intensive Care, Surgery, Acute Care Settings with a focus on Cardiac Care and Emergency Medicine. My final position was as a Rounding Nurse for a group of Hospitalists (that was my favoritie). I have been retired from nursing for three years due ill health. I have a severe form of Rheumatoid Arthritis and am on 14 daily medications and bi-weekly self injections. Pursuing full time employment is no longer an option for me as I have no cartilage left in either foot (I am the rarest of rare and am not a symmetrical RA patient), very little in my knees along with my hands. There are days that I literally cannot walk. I have a very suppressed immune system and have frequent bouts with pneumonia (three years ago I almost pulled a Kermit the Muppit Creator stint), cellulitis and multiiple other infections accompanied by extremely high fevers. I fill my time by watching alot, and I do mean alot of TV. When I am able, I indulgle my other passion by writing. Currently, I have three projects in the works. First is a Lifetime type screenplay "One Less Commandment", second is my "memoirs","From Misconception to Flying on Haley's Comet", and finally I am in the process of submitting a series proposal to a Des Moines Register Editor.
