About Rodney D. Johnston, of Napanoch, formerly of Marlboro and a driver for DHL, died Jan. 23, 2006 from a snowmobile accident at the Ellenville Regional Hospital. He was 37.

The son of Robert D. Johnston and the late Jerilyn Ziegler Johnston, he was born Dec. 5, 1968 in Newburgh.

He attended St. John's Memorial Episcopal Church, Ellenville, was a 1987 graduate of the Marlboro High School where he was a star athlete in both football and baseball. He attended Dutchess Community College. Rodney raced cars in both Middletown and Accord, was a snowmobile and ATV enthusiast and loved Arctic Cat snowmobiles. He was the greatest dad and loved to involve his family in his motor sports.

Survivors include his wife Mary A. Mobley Johnston at home; two sons, Randy Dean Johnston, Tyler Matthew Johnston; one daughter, Madison Jerilyn Johnston all at home; two sisters, Christine Johnston Young and husband David of Leigh Acres, Fla., Dianna Lyn Johnston of Wallkill; his father, Robert D. Johnston of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. Johnston of Marlboro; mother-in-law, Hazel A. Mobley of Napanoch; father-in-law, Bob Mobley Sr. of Elizaville, N.Y.; brothers-in-law, Bobbie Mobley and Shawn Mobley both of Napanoch; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins.

Predeceased by his mother, Jerilyn Johnston and his maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ziegler.
