About	William J. 'Billy' Kitchenm, 51 26 Aug 1961 - 8 Jul 2013 Marion L Steele High School, Class of 1979 "LORAIN - William "Billy" J. Kitchen, 51 years of age, and a resident of Lorain, passed away Monday, July 8, 2013 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, following a brief illness. He was born August 26, 1961 in Lorain, Ohio. Billy was raised in Amherst where he had lived from 1970 until 1978, graduating from Marion L. Steele High School in the class of 1979. He also attended Lorain County Joint Vocational School in Oberlin where he studied Agricultural Industrial Mechanics. Billy had made his home in Lorain for the last thirty-four years. Billy was a member of A Fresh Wind Church in Amherst. He was known for being a hard worker and a gifted carpenter. He was a retired member of the Local 509 Cleveland Carpenter's union. In his spare time, he loved restoring cars and helping family and friends as their "auto mechanic". Billy enjoyed listening to classic rock and country music and hiking in the woods. Survivors include his sons William J. Kitchen, Jr. of Amherst, and Brennan L. Kitchen of Lorain; daughters Hillary Ann Hudson and her husband Michael of Washington, New Jersey, and Farrah N. Kitchen of Amherst; his mother Charlotte Kitchen (nee: Vanburen) of Lorain; grandchildren Dante, Andre, Terrel and Devon Hudson; brother James D. Kitchen and his wife Michelle of Amherst; sisters Robin Lute, and Shannon Kitchen both of Lorain, Kelly Dunn and her husband Tim of Louisville, Kentucky; and his sister in law Rita Kitchen-Dillon of Lorain. He was preceded in death by his father John C. Kitchen in 1997; and brother John L. Kitchen in 1983. Friends may call Monday, July 15, 2013 from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. The Rev. Tim Holt, pastor of A Fresh Wind Church of Amherst, will officiate. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to William J. Kitchen Memorial Fund at any Key Bank location.
