Gornall, age 34, of Canfield, Ohio, and former Lorain County resident, died unexpectedly in Boardman Township, Ohio on Friday August 28th, 2009. Gunnery Sergeant Gornall was born in Lorain, Ohio on January 12, 1975 and was a 1994 graduate of Amherst Marion L. Steele High School. For the past fifteen years he has served in the United States Marine Corps which has included two tours of duty in Iraq. Survivors include his wife of five years Nicola Dayani-Gornall, by his father Michael and step-mother Nancy, by brothers Christopher of Chicago, Illinois and Nick of Chesapeake, Virginia, by sisters Rebecca and Nicole Newell both of Tampa, Florida, Shirley Lutz and Alice Fitzpatrick-Harris, both of Amherst, and Brenda Smith of Chesapeake, Virginia, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. as preceded in death by his mother Suzanne Gallagher-Newell, maternal grandparents James F. and Margaret M Gallagher, and paternal grandparents John D. and Valeria Gornall.
