About	Margaret Ruth nee Krieg Bliss 7 Jun 1920 - 22 Dec 2013 Amherst Central High School - Class of 1938 "LORAIN - Margaret Ruth Bliss (nee: Krieg), 93 years of age, and a resident of Lorain, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2013 at New Life Hospice Center in Lorain following a long illness. She was born June 7, 1920 in Amherst, Ohio graduating from Amherst High School in the class of 1938. Margaret had made her home in Lorain since 1941. She was employed at AAA in Sheffield for twenty-five years as a manager. She was previously employed at US Automatic now known as Nordson in Amherst during World War II. In her younger years she enjoyed traveling to Myrtle Beach and Las Vegas. Margaret liked to keep her hands busy, doing needle work and was an avid reader. Survivors include her husband of seventy-two years David Franklin Bliss; her daughters Diana Bliss of Salem, Virginia, Cathy Lakner and her husband Larry of Wakeman; her grandchildren Amy (Brett) Athey of Eugene, Oregon, Aaron (Kelly) Athey of Roanoke, Virginia, Julie Lakner of Roanoke, Virginia, David Lakner of Berlin Heights and Ashley (Thomas) Wasily of Vermilion; and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sisters Evelyn Riley, Mildred Gutman; and her parents Fred and Margaret Krieg (nee: Barris). Friends may call Saturday, December 28, 2013 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. The James Peter, chaplain of New Life Hospice will officiate. Burial will follow at Crownhill Cemetery, Amherst. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of New Life Hospice, especially Joe and Chris for the excellent care they provided to their mother.
