About	Brian Joseph Kokinda, 68 16 Aug 1944 - 27 Sep 2012 Amherst High School - Class of 1962 "Brian Joseph Kokinda, 68, and a resident of Amherst, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012 at his home following a brief illness. He was born Aug. 16, 1944 in Lorain. Brian was raised in the Lorain and Amherst area and graduated from Amherst High School in the class of 1962. He had lived in Mississippi for 15 years before moving back to Amherst in 2002 where he lived until his death. Brian proudly served in the United States Navy. He was employed at Zeon Chemical in Mississippi for 27 years before retiring in 2001 as a foreman. Brian loved working on the computer. He enjoyed listening to all types of music. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 37 years Linda Christine Kokinda (nee Piar); his sons and their wives Tony and Tina Fuhrman of Vermilion, and Tim and Jenny Fuhrman of Amherst, his daughters Marcy Kokinda of Oregon, Michelle Riggs of Wakeman, Lisa Kokinda of Mississippi, and Rebecca McCollough and her husband Mark of Amherst; and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister Susan; and his parents Joseph and Adeline Kokinda (nee Rhon). Services were held privately by the family. Hempel Funeral Home of Amherst handled arrangements. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society, North Regional Office, 10501 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44106.
