About	Fawn Anita 'Honey' nee Rosenkranz Smith, 64 25 Nov 1947 - 04 Oct 2012 Marion L Steele High School - Class of 1966 "AMHERST TOWNSHIP - Fawn 'Honey' Anita Smith nee: Rosenkranz, 64 years of age, and a resident of Amherst Township, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Amherst Hospital following a brief battle with cancer. She was born November 25, 1947 in Amherst, Ohio. Fawn was a lifetime resident of Amherst and graduated from Marion L. Steele High School in the class of 1966. She was employed at First Merit Bank, formerly Lorain County Bank for twenty-four years as a head teller. Fawn was also employed for twelve years as a secretary for Dr. David Sterna. She was an active member of St. Peter United Church of Christ in Amherst, where she served as a Sunday school teacher. Fawn was a member of the Amherst VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Her hobbies included ceramics, going to "cruise - ins" and playing cards and socializing with the friends she made through the events. She enjoyed nature, watching and feeding birds and animals. Fawn enjoyed watching super modified racing. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of fifteen years Walter Norman Smith, Jr.; her step sons Steven Smith and his wife Becky of South Amherst, Walter William Smith of Amherst; granddaughters Karli, Kelli, Kandice and Kaci; and her brother and his wife Dale and Judy Rosenkranz of Amherst as well as many nieces and nephews. Fawn was preceded in death by her first husband of eighteen years Robert Eugene Bartlome on March 9, 1985; her brother John Rosenkranz in 2000; sisters Naomi Bratschi, Rea Rita Krause; and her parents George R. and Sophia Rosenkranz (nee: Witt). Friends may call Sunday, Oct. 7th, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Avenue, Amherst. The Rev. Mark Pemberton, pastor of St. Peter United Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be in Brownhelm Cemetery in Brownhelm Township. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Peter United Church of Christ; 582 Church Street, Amherst, OH 44001 or the Animal Protective League; 8303 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, OH 44035.
