"John “Bud” Bierman, 85 years of age, of Berlin Heights and Fort Myers, FL, passed away March 2, 2006 at HCR Manor Care in Ft. Myers, Florida.

He was born March 2, 1921 in Lorain, OH. He was raised and lived in Lorain and Amherst, graduating from Amherst High School in 1939. John had made his home in Berlin Heights for the past thirty years and wintered in Ft. Myers, FL.

John served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the South Pacific. He was employed at US Steel in Lorain for thirty-eight years, retiring as a production supervisor. He was a member of Florence, United Church of Christ in Florence Township. He was also a member of the VFW Post 1662, Elmer Johnson American Legion Post #118 both of Amherst, the Elks Lodge 1301 in Lorain, and the Ft. Myers Moose Club. He enjoyed old cars, golfing, and bowling.

Survivors include his brothers Noble “Bo” Bierman of Urbana, OH and Maurice Bilby of Berlin Heights, OH; his sisters Lynn Bierman and Lois Bittinger of both Rocky River, OH; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and great great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents John F. Bierman, on November 20, 1961, and Mary Bierman (nee: Virgin), on March 16, 1987; by his stepmother Margaret Bierman on January 19, 1988; by his sister Audrey Bilby on September 5, 1998; and by his brothers George Bierman on November 21, 1990 and Ed Bierman in 1975.

Services will be held privately by the family with the Rev. Mark Pemberton, pastor of St. Peter United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Florence Congregational Church; St. Rt. 113, Florence, OH 44814.
