About	28 May 1921 - 6 Sep 2010 Amherst High School Class of 1938 (old Central School building - her senior picture is found in the 1938 yearbook called "The Record", Amherst Public Library) "Marie M. Stang-Burrer (nee Telzerow), 89, of Elyria, Ohio passed away Monday, September 6, 2010 at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home in Lorain following a lengthy illness. She was born May 28, 1921 in Amherst. Marie graduated from Amherst High School. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church for over 60 years where she was a Sunday School Teacher, assisted with church dinners, played piano and organ for church services. She operated a beauty salon in her home during the 60’s and 70’s. She was a 4-H Advisor for many years, was a member of the Grange, and worked at the Lorain County Fair in the Grange cafeteria tent. She was a homemaker and loved quilting. At age 80, she started a quilting club in the church basement where they continue to meet. Mrs. Stang-Burrer is survived by her son Gary R. Stang (Leslie) of Curtiss, Wisconsin, daughter DeAnn Wernert (Alan) of Avon, Ohio, son Wayne F. Stang (Susan) of Elyria; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; step-sons Kenneth Burrer (Goldie) of Elyria, Gerald Burrer (Mary) of Wakeman, Wayne Burrer (Carol) of Toledo area, 12 step-grandchildren and many step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Frank Stang, second husband Earl C. Burrer, son Dennis Stang, brother Harold Telzerow and her parents Ernest and Emma (nee Bartlome) Telzerow. Funeral service will be 10:30am, Saturday, September 11 at the Busch Funeral Home, 114 Second Street, Elyria. Rev. Gary Lunsford, Pastor of Zion United Methodist Church and Rev. William Seith, will co-officiate. Interment will be in Ridgehill Memorial Park, Amherst Township. Friends may call 2-4pm and 6-9pm Friday at the funeral home.
