About	Donna Mae (nee Thomas) Fashing Filbert, age 70 16 May 1939 - 27 Feb 2010 Amherst High School - Class of 1957 "AMHERST â€” Donna Mae Filbert (nee Thomas), age 70 years and a resident of Amherst, died on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Cleveland Clinic after a long illness. Donna was born May 16, 1939 in Amherst, to the late Charles and Martha (nee Herwig) Thomas. She was a 1957 graduate of Amherst High School. Donna and her husband Harry split their residency between Amherst and Bonita Springs, Florida. She was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Amherst. Survivors include her husband of 24 years Harold H. Filbert; two sons, Charles Fashing and Marc (wife Barb) Fashing, both of Norwalk; a daughter Chris Fashing Griffith of Bonita Springs, Florida; four grandchildren; Jonathan, Jennafer, Kyle, and Aaron; a sister Jane (husband Steven) Pall of Naples, Florida and her brother Charles (wife Pat) Thomas of Amherst. In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her husband Charles Russell Fashing; two brothers, Jerry and Robert Thomas; and her sister Ruth Thomas Echstenkamper. Donna was the recipient of a kidney transplant that was donated by Adam's family and Donna's family thanks them for the gift that lengthened her life by decades. The memorial service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at St. Peter United Church of Christ, 582 Church Street, Amherst. Rev. Mark Pemberton, pastor, will officiate. Private family burial in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township. Family will receive friends at church one hour prior to the service. In Donna's memory, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
