About | Jeffrey Keyser was born May 5, 1957 to Chester and Aurelia Keyser in Denver, Colorado. He spent his childhood years in the Denver and Colorado Springs metro areas, graduating from Manitou Springs High School in 1975. Jeff attended Pikes Peak Community College to learn the construction trade and he served an apprenticeship with a local cabinetmaker and millworker. Jeff married Marcelle Renee Smith of Cascade, Colorado on October 8, 1977, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Colorado Springs. The couple eventually moved to Salida, and then Buena Vista, Colorado. Jeff started his first woodworking business, and the young couple was blessed with their two wonderful children. Later, the family moved to Western Colorado, residing in Durango and Bayfield before settling in Montrose, Colorado in the mid-1990s. Jeff worked as a self-employed carpenter, construction manager, and real estate agent. After the children were grown, Jeff and Marcy moved from Montrose to Colorado Springs, and they purchased property in the Perry Park community of Douglas County, Colorado, with intentions to build a future retirement home. Jeff was a fine and meticulous craftsman. Throughout the years, Jeff applied his God-given talents to a wide variety of projects in Colorado, including Faith Lutheran Church in Buena Vista and Our Savior Lutheran Church and School in Pagosa Springs. He enjoyed fishing, skiing, four wheeling, riding a Harley-Davidson, long drives in the beautiful Colorado outdoors and planning his next vacation to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Jeff deeply loved his family. Jeff was baptized into the Christian faith, and at the time of his death, he was a member of Family of Christ Lutheran Church in Colorado Springs. Jeff died of renal cancer at home under hospice care on January 24, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Aurelia Keyser, his older brother Mike Keyser, and brothers-in-law Brian Smith, Roland Leljidal, and William Heine. |
