Favorite School Memory	Toured Morris College Campus, met and dined with college students, and was interviewed by students. Had fun with my friends, and chaperoned by my Mom Hattie to a 1966 High School Dance at Manchester.
About Me	Praise God that I obtained some of my goals. In 1968, I attended Sumter Area Technical-Vocational College, prior to joining the U.S. Army in March 1969. I served in the military for 22 ½ years, retiring as Sergeant Major (highest Enlisted rank) with an Honorable Discharge. As a Noncommissioned Officer In Charge (NCOIC), I was responsible for quality of life, training, and mentoring of several hundred soldiers. Assignments included: Defense Intelligence, Congressional Military Actions, Human Resource Management, and NATO Support in Belgium, Germany, Korea, Texas, Virginia, and Indiana. In addition to military training & education, obtained Graduate & Undergraduate degrees. Married to James Aurtrey for 35 years. As a young soldier stationed at Fort Meyer, Virginia, formed a singing group with 4 other female soldiers called “Alberta and the V O Fives”! Performed with local bands at NCO Clubs on weekends until assignments overseas. As I grew spiritually, I became even more involved with church and communities. Currently, I am a member and a Prayer Partner at Calvary Temple Church of Indianapolis, a distinguished graduate of the Discipleship Ministry Course, lifelong Christian Life Group Bible Study Student, and Chaplain for American Legion Women’s Post # 438, Indianapolis. As Chaplain, I provide members with spiritual guidance, monthly newsletters, and visit the sick. I have held many positions such as Instructional Education Specialist, Management Analyst, Financial Management Analyst, and Accountant. I am Co-Director for Women In Networking (WIN). This organization focuses on personal and professional careers of women and families.
