John K. Greanias

Class of 1961

John K. Greanias, class of 1961, is the Presiding Judge for Macon County, Macon County Circuit Court. Judge Greanias earned the BA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1965, and received the J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1967.

He served in the Judge Advocate General Corps of the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1973, and was an attorney in the firm of Greanias and Booth from 1974 to 1986. He was elected Circuit Judge of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in 1987. He is a member of the Decatur Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, and the Illinois Judges Association.
