A retired Army Lieutenant Colonel, Frank Evans is a decorated officer with twenty-six years of service in the Infantry. His awards include the Combat Infantryman Badge, a Bronze Star with “V” device, a Bronze Star for Meritorious Achievement in combat, a Bronze Star for Meritorious Service in a combat zone, an Air Medal, five Meritorious Service Medals, a Korean Military Achievement Medal presented by the Republic of Korea Minister of Defense, and various service medals. He served in combat as an infantry platoon leader and with Special Forces in Vietnam. He served in Panama during the military action to remove Manual Noriega from power.

Frank has a BS in Criminal Justice from Columbus State University, an MA in Management and an MA in Computer Resources Management. He recently served as a defense contractor for the United States Army in war-fighting simulation research and experimentation. As an adjunct college professor he taught microcomputer applications for eleven years. He’s currently working on his first fictional novel to be published in 2011.

For his book, Stand To…A Journey to Manhood, Frank was nominated as the Georgia Author of the Year by the Georgia Writers Association and recently was awarded the prestigious 2009 Founder’s Award by the Military Writers Society of America.
