I spent my first 10 years with the Pacific Fleet. I was assigned to a destroyer in Pearl Harbor, a frigate in San Diego, and a cruiser in Yokosuka, Japan. I also taught NROTC at the University of New Mexico.
My next 10 years was with the Atlantic Fleet. I attended the Armed Forces Staff College in Norfolk and was assigned to an amphibious assault ship homeported in Norfolk. My last 7 years I was assigned to a US staff position and then a NATO staff position, both in Naples, Italy.
