Navy, 20+ Years
1981 - 2008 Gary served as an Enlisted Sailor (81-84) and then as an Officer from 1988-2008. Gary was a Surface Warfare Officer (SWO) and served on 5 ships (INDEPENDENCE, HEPBURN, LAKE CHAMPLAIN, CAPE ST GEORGE and JOHN S. MCCAIN. Retired 2008 as Navy Commander (CDR). Personal Decorations include - Navy Achievement Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (6 Stars), Meritorious Service Medal (2 Stars), and the Defense Meritorious Service Medal. Completed 7 operational deployments and a tour of duty in Iraq Feb 06-Nov 06.
