| About Me | Gloria Tyler-Mallery is a marketing consultant with in-depth thirty-five years of experience in marketing and promotions. Experienced in special item, aviation, real estate and gospel music marketing, together, with radio broadcasting, production and programming makes Gloria a very resourceful individual. Her private enterprise background has enabled her to broaden her experiences in management and public relations. As the former director of gospel marketing for the Nashville, Tennessee-based Benson Music Group, Gloria Tyler-Mallery was responsible for the chart topping success of such inspirational talents as Grammy Award winners Fred Hammond, Albertina Walker and Hezekiah Walker and The Love Fellowship Crusade Choir. She went to Benson Music Group, the world’s largest publisher of gospel music, after having dedicated six years to gospel radio programming in San Diego, California. Her radio career began at Texas Southern University where she produced a weekly talk show “Community Highlights,” which was a part of the gospel programming. Tyler-Mallery was initially Benson’s coordinator of radio and retail promotions, before quickly earning a promotion to gospel marketing manager, and then finally to director. Her responsibilities included developing marketing plans and strategies for each new release, managed project set- ups, which included art and design for covers and pre-release set-up for promotional discs and cassettes. Gloria created ad campaigns and developed copy and layout for brochures, fliers and print advertisement. She oversaw budgets, advertising and merchandising for each project, and coordinated release parties and special events as they related to the marketing plans. Gloria managed marketing personnel and served as liaison with the general market distributor. Gloria, as a former special accounts representative, has trained extensively in all phases of airline reservations and operations. As an employee of the former Texas International/Continental Airlines, Gloria served as Chairperson of the Airline Employees Association, a labor bargaining unit representing reservation and ramp employees. She represented these employees during contract negotiations and was responsible for presenting material during the negotiations, assisted in costing the contract and negotiated benefits, compensation and other aspects of the contract. She initiated “special market” targeting which launched a new concept in group travel and sales. As a co-owner of Dunn & Becker Travel, Inc., Gloria was a working manager handling her own clients and accounts. Her responsibilities included training personnel. Gloria developed strategic plans for a training project that benefited unemployed youths and adults. Gloria’s deep commitment to her community and social concerns grows out of her experiences in San Diego, Houston and Nashville. She has been an active member of those communities, having worked for the Tennessee State Legislature, appointed to the Congressional Black Caucus “Brain-trust Committee” by the late Congressman George “Mickey” Leland, Democrat – Houston, Texas, served as a member of the National Assault on Illiteracy Program, worked as an advance team member in the 2000’ presidential election and made a bid for a city council seat in San Diego. GLORIA TYLER-MALLERY holds a B.S. degree in Criminal Justice Administration from San Diego State University, and is a Certified Notary & Paralegal and a licensed Real Estate Broker. Many organizations have chosen to honor her for her activism and excellence in achievement. She has been honored as one of America’s Most outstanding Young Women, listed in Who’ Who in American Women 15th edition and in 1995 selected by Dollar and Sense Magazine as one of America’s Best and Brightest Women. For her work toward advancing gospel music, Gloria has received commendations from the nationally syndicated “Bobby Jones Gospel Show,” (B.E.T.) and from the Radio Announcers Guild, of the Gospel Music Workshop of America where she was recognized nationally as “Radio Announcer of the Year”. Gloria is currently an "On Air Radio Personality" at...(read more) |
