About	December 22, 1945 - June 26, 2024 Cheney - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Claude Severino Montecucco. Born in Italy on December 22, 1945, to Frank and Ida Montecucco. Claude was a loving husband, dad, papa, great-grandpa, and brother. He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and went on to earn his bachelor's and master's degrees in mathematics from the University of Washington. He was also a proud business owner of Chet's Flowers in Cheney, WA. Later, he returned to school at Gonzaga University to obtain his law degree and worked as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney serving Spokane County for 25 years. Claude was a brilliant lifelong learner. He was an incredible mathematician and helped generations of his family learn mathematics. He also loved playing cards, doing puzzles, and bowling. We will always remember his genuine love of Christmas and his joy in passing out presents. Claude was an honorable and trustworthy man, a great family man, and a friend to all. Claude is survived by his wife of 57 years, Fay; his daughter, Annette and son-in-law, Shawn; his son, John and daughter-in-law, Lola; and his grandchildren, Kendra, Logan and his wife, Jolene, Cameron, Tyler, Kezi; and great-grandson, Talon. There will be a small family service at Holy Cross Cemetery on August 16, 2024. Published by Spokesman-Review on Aug. 4, 2024.
