About Gerald Wayne Glover, Sr., better known as Uncle Jerry, born September 16th, 1944, went to rest in our heavenly Father's arms June 7th at Sacred Heart Hospital with his wife and daughter present. Thank you, all the Sacred Heart hands, that touched Jerry and were in service to him and his care. Again, thank you. Thank you, our Sunrise family, for all the love and support. Jerry was born in Fresno, California, and raised in Spokane, Washington, from six months old until his passing June 7th. Jerry was in and out of death's door for many years with lung, heart, etc., effects of Agent Orange. We believe constant prayer and faith are the reason Jerry's life continued. The last few months wore on Jerry's body. He always said he was ready whenever the Lord called, and often prayed for sooner than later. Jerry's constant smile, which he was known for, threw people off as to how ill he was. Jerry graduated from Lewis & Clark in 1963. He served with pride for seven years in the US Army, two years in Viet Nam, and was honorably discharged in 1968, Sergeant E-5. Jerry represented our heavenly Father and our country. There was no doubt of his love and faith as a Godly Christian man. Jerry served as deacon for many years at Sunrise Church of Christ, our church home. Jerry's smile and "Amens" are a part of the legacy he leaves in each and every heart of those who knew him. We were married what would have been 55 years July 4th (he chose the date). He was and is my heart, my love. We had three children, J.J., Chris, and Dion. Jerry always loved children and wanted a football team. Well...he got it. God added nieces, nephews, and neighbors to our family dynamic. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Rosevelt Orr and Annie Mae Glover; one son, Jerry Jr.; and three sisters, Mary Lucille, Norvella, and Alberta. He leaves behind his wife, Tina; his daughter, Christine (Jon); son, Dion (Ashley); sister, Alsinia; and grandchildren, G. Glover III of Lewiston, Idaho, Javin Glover of Clarkston, Idaho, Lillie Bell Wells of Spokane, Brynlee Glover of Spokane Valley, Tayshawn Glover of Spokane Valley, Maria Breedlove and Family. Also, great-grandson, Jayvan White Glover, and family; and a number of nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in Christ, and loving friends. We are grateful to caregivers at V.A. Hospital for all the years of care, but most of all to Homebase V.A. Care team. We love you and thank you. Celebration of Life service will be June 22nd, at 11:00 A.M., at Sunrise Church of Christ, 4718 N. Ash. Reception to follow.
